Job Detail

Holland America is currently searching for a highly motivated Compensation Consultant who will support our global Shoreside compensation programs by providing data mining, analytics and reports. This position works closely with client leadership teams and global HR Business Partners and reports directly to the Senior Director, Global Compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing compensation through market research, surveys/benchmarking, and trend analysis to ensure competitive compensation programs and best practices

  • Serve as an internal functional expert and a strategic partner on compensation, consulting with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition regarding compensation inquiries

  • Design various sales incentive programs, and ensure they are appropriately communicated to participants and accurately administered

  • Develop metrics used to measure effectiveness of compensation programs; provide actionable analysis to business leaders; and recommend improvement opportunities

  • Manage annual salary survey participation and completion. Research market trends and recommend changes to pay structures to ensure a competitive position in the marketplace

  • Assist in developing education programs to increase employee appreciation of compensation programs (base pay, short-term incentives, long-term incentives)

  • Manage the annual merit process, including strategic design as well as administration of merit increase programs for exempt and non-exempt employees

  • Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide timely and relevant compensation data as new roles are created or current roles are redefined

  • Manage and maintain job evaluation process using established evaluation systems, and partner with HR/Business Leaders to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness

  • Manage job descriptions, including auditing jobs for content and preparing job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities and requirements, as needed. Ensure all positions are classified appropriately according to FLSA

  • Participate in strategic compensation projects and key initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Three or more years of experience in the area of Compensation, HR or related area.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and intermediate level in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, charts, and mail merge) strong ability to research, analyze and interpret data.

  • Highly flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities quickly.

  • Strong project management, organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • CCP designation preferred.
