Job Details

Manage and coordinate the development, modification, and implementation of Maritime applications and related infrastructure projects with Corporate Maritime I.T. teams to provide timely and accurate information and deployments for maritime applications ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.


  • Develop long and short range strategic plans, including Application Development Plans and Resource Development Plans to achieve corporate systems development objectives in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Establish and maintain systems development standards, procedures, and methodologies consistent with corporate and departmental objectives and policies, and ensures adherence to it.

  • Manage, organize and maintain current minutes of key meetings as delegated. These include, but are not limited to, Fleet I.T. meetings, dry-dock meeting, new build meeting, and any other related meetings as delegated.

  • Oversee the project team to support the Fleet Operations Center dependency of Maritime applications.

  • Manage, track and maintain open issues that are reported through to closure.

  • Prepare and provide other members of the team a Project Management framework to deliver projects within, this includes insuring that all required documentation is complete as where appropriately defined with the standards, procedure and methodology.

  • Manage departmental operations to assure efficient and effective daily and long term applications development efforts, consistent with corporate and departmental policies.

  • Plan, coordinate and direct additional projects and efforts as necessary to meet corporate and departmental objectives and requirements.

  • Maintain effective communications with other departments to assist, coordinate and collaborate in the attainment of corporate and HA Group objectives.

  • Determine requirements for new application systems and revisions to current systems; oversee the design of these new and revised systems; direct their implementation.

  • Consult with departmental administration, other departments and industry in developing new and improved management procedures for more effective utilization of EDP equipment.

  • Supervise, assist, assign, schedule and review work of the systems analyst and programming staff.

  • Assist management in budgeting process and contract negotiations.

  • Analyze procedures and standards of operations; make necessary revisions to assure economic efficiency.

  • Work with the database staff and computer operations in established production controls and operations priorities.

  • Assist in the planning, coordinating and overseeing the information service’s objectives and services.

  • Assist management in the planning and evaluation of data processing equipment.

  • Evaluate performance of the department personnel and take or recommend appropriate actions.

  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.

  • Perform related duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree

  • Eight to ten years Project Manager experience

  • Technical System Analyst experience

  • Two years of additional programming or systems analyst work may be substituted for required education or Master’s Degree maybe substituted for one year required work experience

  • Knowledge of shipboard technical infrastructure is useful
